It’s extraordinary how much punishment the human face can absorb. Last night, Zak Espi (England) and Faith Demir (Germany) met in the 80-kilogram final at the World Cup. Here’s the first minute of the first round that I taped. Notice how hard they punch. Halfway through this clip, Espi kicks Demir in the head with a front-leg turn kick. Demir just shakes it off.
